Care Guide
1. Avoid excessive heat. Never leave in a hot car & avoid direct sunlight when storing.
2. Clean with water or a gentle lens solution & microfibre cloth.
3. Store safely in VC pouch to avoid scratches.
4. To keep the shape, close right temple under left temple. Avoid wearing on your head.
5. Don’t get salty - rinse well if you just can’t help yourself.
Sustainability
We’ve made a commitment to keeping things sustainable.
Our sunglasses are hand-crafted using high quality cellulose acetate, a renewable and biodegradable material made of wood produced in sustainably managed forests and cotton fibers. Taking things a step further, all of our ‘Black’ and ‘Eco Tort’ frames, along with selected others, are created with bio-acetate, which uses vegetable-based plasticizers to be even more sustainable. We have recently also introduced Acetate Renew, an acetate made using recycled materials in a revolutionary recycling method, for a reduced carbon footprint without compromising on quality.
We use CR-39 lenses in all of our frames. These are created to be highly shatter proof and scratch resistant in order to withstand the test of time.
The production of eyewear is naturally low in water and energy usage.
Our packaging is composed of a biodegradable, vegan leather pouch, a cleaning cloth and a recyclable card box. We ship our sunglasses in a card box using landfill-biodegradable packing tape and paper labels, or cornstarch based envelopes.
Our designs may be inspired by the past, but our focus is firmly on creating a beautiful and lasting future— one so bright, you’re going to need a good pair of sunnies.

We offer free express shipping worldwide on orders over $200 AUD, except to countries not covered by Auspost. Orders are shipped from our warehouse in Byron Bay, Australia.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Returns & Exchanges

You have 14 days from receiving your package to drop it at the post office for return.
Return expenses are the responsibility of the customer.
Please note that sales from our Sample Sale are final and not eligible for return.
Items must be unworn and in their original condition and packaging.

Please ensure you note the tracking number, as we cannot be held responsible for lost parcels. Please wrap well to ensure the packaging is not damaged in transit. Damaged or missing packaging will incur a 10 AUD fee, which will be deducted from your refund.
What happens to my returned or faulty sunglasses?
We are committed to creating as little waste as possible. This means small batch production, no plastic packaging and holding occasional sample sales.
When you purchase a pair of sunglasses to try at home and decide not to keep them, simply fill out our returns form, package them safely and return to us.
We inspect all returns for signs of wear, and add them back to stock provided they are in perfect condition.
If an item is returned to us with a manufacturer fault within 12 months, if possible, we will repair that pair and return them to you. In the case that we are unable to repair them, for example if we don’t have the necessary parts at that time, we will send you a new pair.
We will keep the faulty pair for spare parts (lenses, arms, screws, fronts). The next time we hold a sample sale, we will repair any items we were previously unable to repair and label them as repaired goods for sale. We very rarely have need to throw items away, and only when an item is returned to us in particularly bad condition.
We are committed to reducing waste as much as possible so you can rest assured that we will never destroy stock unnecessarily.
Warranty
We guarantee our sunglasses for 12 months from the purchase date for manufacturer defects. We do not cover normal wear and tear however we are happy to discuss repair options with you where possible. Please contact hello@velvetcanyon.com with the details of your claim and proof of purchase and we will instruct you on how to return your item. Upon receipt we will assess whether to repair or replace your item and return to you as soon as possible. If it has been longer than 12 months, please reach out and we will do our best to help!
